ALL OUR TOURS ARE UNDERTAKEN ON THE PARTICIPANTS’ OWN RESPONSIBILITY, I.E.: MY ICELAND GUIDE DOES NOT ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSS, ACCIDENTS, DAMAGE, (DAMAGE OR) SICKNESS THAT MIGHT OCCUR DURING OUR TOURS, OR THAT ARE CAUSED BY ITS (OUR) CUSTOMERS, OR CAN BE TRACED TO THEIR OWN ACTIONS. THE SAME APPLIES FOR ANY CHANGES IN TOUR (OUR) SCHEDULE DUE TO WEATHER, STRIKES OR ANY OTHER IRREGULARITY OUTSIDE MY ICELAND GUIDE’S CONTROL.

General Conditions
My Iceland Guide reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. Any extra charges that are incurred due to change in flights (domestic and international) must be covered by the client (you), at the time the service is provided (e.g. extra hotel nights, meals, transfers etc). We therefore strongly advise all clients to have insurance.

Liability
My Iceland Guide reserves the right to alter routes, arrange alternative carriers and/or re-schedule or cancel tours if external conditions become a threat to the safety of its travellers (our clients), including adverse weather, road conditions, or mechanical issues. No refunds will be given in these circumstances or in the event of any delay, curtailment or alteration of a trip resulting from any cause.

Delays may occur for unforeseen reasons. No responsibility is taken for losses or expenses incurred due to delay or changes of flights, injury, damaged, negligence, weather, war or other foreseeable causes. The estimated duration of tours as indicated on our website are standard times and can vary according to road or weather conditions. Punctuality is a key objective in My Iceland Guide‘s operation. The company cannot be made responsible for losses that a passenger may face due to delay, regardless (of) whether the loss is direct or indirect.

Forces of Nature
In case of natural hazards such as volcanic eruption, earthquake, flood, bad weather or any other forces of nature My Iceland Guide reserves the right to change the itinerary, and refunds or other options will be given. Components of our tours are weather dependent and we cannot be held liable if they are unavailable on the day of travel.

Bookings
Individual bookings can be done on-line through our website. If any problems are encountered while booking please contact us by e-mail to info@myiceland.guide. Group bookings can be made by e-mail to the same e-mail. In the case of a booking by e-mail:

A deposit of 1/3 is must be made in order to confirm your booking.
The remaining 2/3 must reach My Iceland Guide no later than one month before arrival.

Validity of Prices
All rates quoted or shown in our tariffs are based on current purchasing prices in Iceland. My Iceland Guide reserves the right to adjust prices already quoted or published in our price lists without notice in the event of currency fluctuation, government taxes, or due to any other cost increases that are outside My Iceland Guide‘s control.

After the invoice has been issued the price is guaranteed against any surcharge, unless an increase is due to government laws or currency changes. In this case My Iceland Guide will absorb an amount equivalent up to 5% of the package price. Amounts exceeding the 5% will be charged to the client. The client will be entitled to cancel their booking with a full refund if the surcharge exceeds 10%.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made by you, the client, 21 days or more prior to the beginning of your travel dates: 100% refund.
Cancellations made by you, the client, 20 days or less prior to the beginning of your travel dates : 70% refund.
Cancellations made by you, the client, with less than a 24 hour notice: no refund.
No-show at pickup: no refund.

All cancellations must be made and confirmed by us, in writing (e-mail for instance), in conformity with business practices within the Icelandic travel industry.
Should a volcanic eruption in Iceland keep you from getting to Iceland, you will get a full refund.
If (for any reason) My Iceland Guide cancels your tour you will get a full refund.
All travel vouchers, if issued, must be returned to us prior to any refund being issued.

Please note that all pick-up and drop-off times listed are as a guidance only and cannot be guaranteed. We are not liable for passenger delay due to failure to connect with other services or any costs associated with such delays.

No exceptions are made to our cancellation policy for any reason, including neither personal or medical, weather or other forces of nature, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, international or internal (domestic) flight cancellations, nor any other reason beyond our control. We therefore strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation or interruption insurance to protect yourself from unexpected circumstances before or during your trip.

Personal belongings:
You, the client, are responsible for the safety of your own belongings. We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings or baggage.

Travel Insurance:
Safety is of utmost importance to My Iceland Guide and we pride ourselves in our attention to detail regarding safety on all our tours and of the knowledge, experience and expertise of our guides and staff members. We do, however, strongly advise that all passengers have in place their own adequate travel insurance against issues such as illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings, and being unable to travel on the confirmed departure date.

Food and equipment list
It is a good idea to bring:
Lunch and/or some snacks and soft drinks
Warm clothes
Rain gear
Hiking boots
Hat and gloves
Iceland is known for sudden weather changes so it’s better to be well prepared.
For your security follow your guide’s instructions, stay on marked paths and always have your seat belt on while in car.
